Thumbprint Cookies Recipe - (4.4/5) image

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup margarine
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup self rising flour
1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
Colored icing

Steps:

  • Press together shortening, margarine, brown sugar, and yolk of the egg Add flour to the mix. Dip each cookie in beaten egg white and roll in chopped pecans. Place on a greased cookie sheet and press the center to create indentation. Bake in 400°F oven until done. About 8 to 10 minutes. Fill center dimple of each cookie with icing.
