- Press together shortening, margarine, brown sugar, and yolk of the egg Add flour to the mix. Dip each cookie in beaten egg white and roll in chopped pecans. Place on a greased cookie sheet and press the center to create indentation. Bake in 400°F oven until done. About 8 to 10 minutes. Fill center dimple of each cookie with icing.
