Yield Makes about 1 1/3 cups of each sorbet

Number Of Ingredients 12

For green grape sorbet
2 cups chilled seedless green grapes (about 3/4 pound)
1/4 cup superfine sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
For red grape sorbet
2 cups chilled seedless red grapes (about 3/4 pound)
1/4 cup superfine sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
For black grape sorbet
2 cups chilled black grapes (about 3/4 pound), halved and seeded
1/4 cup superfine sugar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Steps:

  • Make green grape, red grape, and black grape sorbets:
  • Making 1 sorbet at a time, in a blender purée sorbet ingredients until sugar is dissolved, about 3 minutes, and pour through a fine sieve into a bowl, pressing on solids. Discard solids and freeze each sorbet in an ice-cream maker.
  • Transfer each sorbet as made to an airtight container and in freezer harden until firm. Sorbets may be made 1 week ahead and kept frozen, covered.
  • Using a soup spoon, scoop sorbets, alternating flavors, into 8 parfait glasses.

This recipe is too complicated. I'm looking for something simpler.

I'm allergic to grapes. Is there a substitute I can use?

I'm not sure about the basil in this recipe. I think I'll leave it out.

This recipe is a great way to use up leftover grapes.

I had some trouble getting the sorbet to freeze properly. I think I might have needed to chill the grapes more before I started.

This sorbet is a bit too tart for my taste. I think I'll add a little bit of honey next time.

I'm not a huge fan of sorbet, but this recipe changed my mind. The grape flavor is so refreshing and the texture is so smooth. I'll definitely be making this again.

This sorbet was a delightful summer treat! The combination of grapes, lime, and basil was refreshing and flavorful. I especially appreciated the fact that the recipe was so easy to follow, and that I didn't need any special equipment.
