Originating in the Scottish borders where good meat is taken for granted, this dish is a kind of suet pie which makes a small amount of meat go a long way.

This pie was a disappointment. The crust was soggy and the filling was bland. I followed the recipe exactly, so I'm not sure what went wrong.

This pie was a bit too rich for my taste. The filling was very heavy and the crust was a bit too thick. I think I would have enjoyed it more if the filling had been lighter and the crust had been thinner.
