- Butter an 8 or 9 inch square baking dish. In a bowl, mix cream, butter, and spices. Place half the hash browns evenly in the bottom of prepared baking dish. Top with half the cheese and half the cream mixture. Repeat the layers. Bake uncovered at 350° for 1 hour or until the top is golden.
