Swiss Banana Nut Bread image

My grandmothers banana nut bread recipe, tried and true I make this often.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
2 eggs
3 large overripe bananas ( the darker the better )
1 c chopped nuts ( i prefer pecans or walnuts )
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 c flour

Steps:

  • 1. Cream together butter, sugar, and eggs, once its creamy add the banana.
  • 2. Sift together the flour, salt, baking soda and mix well with the wet ingredients.
  • 3. Mix in the chopped nuts.
  • 4. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
  • 5. While bread is warm baste 4 Tablespoon melted butter and then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
