Super Sloppy Joes image

This comes from my "Taste of Home" magazine (Apr/May 99). I had always just opened a can of Manwich for dinner, but one day I dared to make "real" sloppy joes, and well, there's no going back now. Trust me, they're fabulous!

I tried this recipe and it was a disaster. The sauce never thickened and the beef was dry. I ended up throwing it all away.

These sloppy joes were a disappointment. The sauce was bland and the beef was tough. I won't be making them again.

These sloppy joes were a bit too sweet for my taste, but my kids loved them. I'll probably make them again, but I'll use less brown sugar next time.

These sloppy joes were easy to make and turned out great! I especially liked the addition of brown sugar to the sauce. It gave it a nice caramelized flavor.
