~ Strawberry Cobbler ~ image

Hubby brings me a huge bag of frozen strawberries from the freezer and said his sweet tooth was acting up and was there something I could whip up. Time 50m

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 c fresh or frozen strawberries, thawed - if using fresh, cut into fourths
2 c sugar, divided - original recipe called for 1 cup sugar for fresh strawberries and 1/2 cup for frozen. i used 3/4 cup and was just right
1 stick butter
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c flour
3/4 c milk
2 Tbsp sugar - i didn't use for the top

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Combine strawberries and 3/4 c. sugar. *Original recipe called for 1/2 cup for frozen - 1 cup for fresh. Place butter in a 9 x 13 baking dish and melt in oven. In a bowl, mix together flour, 1 cup sugar, salt, and baking powder. Stir in milk until smooth.
  • 2. Pour batter into melted butter and do not stir. Pour strawberry mixture evenly over batter and do not stir. Bake for 45 minutes and let cool 5 minutes then sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar. * I did not use this sugar.
  • 3. Serve with whipped cream, ice cream or alone. We ate ours warm. Yummy!
