Strawberry Applesauce image

We live in the North Georgia Mountains. In the fall this area produces a lot of apples, and we make full use of this wonderful fruit in many ways. This is on of our favorite uses for the apples, and it can be made with sugar free ingredients if you like

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 4

8 apples any kind you like about 4 lbs.
1/2 c apple juice
2 Tbsp butter or margarine
1/2 c strawberry preserves

Steps:

  • 1. Peel, half and core apples. Cut into chunks. Place in a 5 quart saucepan with apple juice and butter or margarine. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium and simmer, covered, 15 minutes or until apples are tender. Crush apples with a potato masher until chunky. Stir in preserves. Serve warm or chilled. I like to serve it with a dollop of cool whip or yogurt. And I try other flavor preserves as well.

Not bad, but I think I'll stick to my old applesauce recipe.

This is a great recipe for using up leftover strawberries. I also added a few blueberries, and it turned out really well.

I'm not sure about this one. The flavor is a bit strange.

This is the best applesauce I've ever had! It's so smooth and flavorful. I love the combination of strawberries and apples, and the spices add a nice touch of warmth. I will definitely be making this again.

Okay, but not great. The applesauce was a bit bland, and the strawberries didn't really add anything. I think I'll try a different recipe next time.

This is my new favorite applesauce recipe! It's so easy to make and the flavor is amazing. I love that it's not too sweet, and the strawberries add a nice touch of tartness.

Not a fan of this recipe. The applesauce was too tart for my taste, and the strawberries didn't add much flavor. I think I'll stick to my regular applesauce recipe.

Easy to make and delicious. I used a combination of red and green apples, and the result was a beautiful pink applesauce. I also added a bit of honey to taste, which gave it a touch of extra sweetness.

This strawberry applesauce was a delightful treat! The sweetness of the strawberries and the tartness of the apples complemented each other perfectly. I loved the addition of cinnamon and nutmeg, which gave the applesauce a warm and inviting flavor.
