We thought we were getting a treat when we woke up to the smell of these cooking. We didn't realize it was a cheap way for Mom to feed us breakfast!

Steps:
- 1. Beat egg.
- 2. Add milk and vanilla.
- 3. Add rest of ingredients, shortening last.
- 4. Drop in hot oil (365 degrees) by teaspoonful.
- 5. Roll around while cooking (them, not you).
- 6. Remove when golden and drain on paper towels.
- 7. Roll THEM in powdered sugar while hot.
- 8. Don't eat too many!!!!
