We thought we were getting a treat when we woke up to the smell of these cooking. We didn't realize it was a cheap way for Mom to feed us breakfast!

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 egg
1/2 c milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/3 c sugar
2 Tbsp melted shortening
powdered sugar
very large glass of cold milk

Steps:

  • 1. Beat egg.
  • 2. Add milk and vanilla.
  • 3. Add rest of ingredients, shortening last.
  • 4. Drop in hot oil (365 degrees) by teaspoonful.
  • 5. Roll around while cooking (them, not you).
  • 6. Remove when golden and drain on paper towels.
  • 7. Roll THEM in powdered sugar while hot.
  • 8. Don't eat too many!!!!
