Yield 54

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup white sugar
1 ⅓ cups butter, softened
¼ cup orange juice
1 egg yolk

Steps:

  • In large bowl, mix all ingredients at medium speed until well mixed. Cover and refrigerate for about one hour.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Use part of dough at a time, keeping the rest refrigerated.
  • Using a cookie press fitted with a bar-plate tip, press dough in long strips, about one inch apart down the length of the cookie sheets.
  • With a sharp knife, cut each strip into 2 1/2 inch pieces. Leave pieces in place. Bake 8 minutes or until light golden. Do not to overbake.
  • Remove from oven and immediately cut again between cookies to separate any cookies which are still joined together.
  • Move cookies to wire rack, and allow cookies to cool completely. Store tightly covered.

I'm not a big fan of spritz cookies, but these ones were pretty good. They were light and airy, and the flavor was just right.

These spritz cookies are a bit bland for my taste. I think they need a little more flavor.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my spritz cookies didn't turn out at all. The dough was too sticky and the cookies spread out too much in the oven.

These spritz cookies are way too sweet for my taste. I had to cut back on the sugar by half and they were still too sweet.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my spritz cookies turned out flat and dense. They didn't have the light and airy texture that I was expecting.
