Spicy Maple Butter image

Serve this sweet and spicy spread with Buttermilk Oat Waffles and Oven-Fried Chicken for our take on a soul-food specialty.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 1/2 teaspoons hot-pepper sauce (such as Tabasco), or to taste
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt

Steps:

  • Mash together all ingredients in a bowl with a flexible spatula until smooth. Maple butter can be stored in refrigerator up to 3 days; bring to room temperature before serving.
