Spiced Brown Sugar Syrup image

Brown sugar brings a deeper, richer flavor to a simple syrup than white sugar. Infused with clove and cinnamon, it's perfect for winter cocktails.

Yield About 3/4 cup syrup

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 cup brown sugar
3 cinnamon sticks, broken into smaller pieces
8 whole cloves

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients with 1 cup water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes until sugar has completely dissolved, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove pan from heat and let the syrup cool. Strain syrup into a clean jar; discard solids. May be refrigerated for a week.
