A tasty soybean pie with a cornmeal crust. Completely vegetarian if you use vegetarian worcestershire sauce. Prep time does not include time for soaking and cooking soybeans. From the More-with-Less Cookbook.

Steps:
- Soak soybeans in water overnight.
- Cook slowly 3-4 hours.
- Drain.
- Heat oil in skillet.
- Add onion, garlic and soybeans.
- Saute for 5 minutes.
- Add tomato sauce, chili powder, worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
- Simmer for a little while.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Meanwhile, prepare crust.
- Combine cornmeal, flour and 1 tsp salt in a bowl.
- Cut in shortening.
- In a separate bowl, beat together egg and 1/4 cup water.
- Add to cornmeal mixture.
- Press into 9 inch pie plate to form crust.
- Fill pie with soybean mixture.
- Top with cheese.
- Bake 25 minutes.
