Southwestern Baked Spaghetti image

great casserole. Love the Southwestern spices. Really gives the casserole nice flavor.

Number Of Ingredients 15

8 oz spaghetti
1/2 c milk
1 large egg beaten
1 lb ground beef, or ground venison
1/2 red bell pepper and yellow bell pepper chopped
2 jalapenos seeded and chopped
1 medium onion chopped
4 clove garlic minced
1 Tbsp new mexico red chili powder
1 tsp each cumin and mexican oregano
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 8 oz cans tomato sauce
1 c each shredded monterey jack cheese and sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 c fresh cilantro chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Cook spaghetti in salted water and drain. Mix milk and egg together and stir in the spaghetti. Pour spaghetti in a buttered 9 x 13 casserole pan. Preheat oven 425 degrees.
  • 2. Brown the beef with the onion, garlic, pepper, and jalapeno. Drain. Add meat back to pan. Stir in spices. Add the tomato sauce and cook 2 minutes.
  • 3. Pour over spaghetti and top with cheese and cilantro. Bake for about 15 minutes. Until cheese is bubbly and melted.
