Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 17

2 Tbsp unsalted butter
2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
2 c vidalia onion, chopped
1 Tbsp garlic, minced
2 c fresh peaches, peeled and chopped
1 c bourbon
2 small chipotle chili peppers in adobo, seeds removed
1 c water
4 c ketchup
1/2 c dark molasses
1/2 c apple cider vinegar
1/4 c dijon mustard
1/4 c worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp smoked paprika
2 Tbsp ground ancho chili pepper
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly-ground black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Heat the butter and oil over medium heat in a 4-quart or larger sauce pan.
  • 2. Add the onions and cook, stirring often, until the onion are translucent, about five minutes.
  • 3. Add the garlic and cook one minute longer.
  • 4. Add the peaches, bourbon and chipotle peppers and cook, stirring often, until the bourbon has almost completely cooked out, about ten minutes.
  • 5. Pour the mixture along with the water into a blender and blend until smooth.
  • 6. Pour the mixture back into the sauce pan and lower the heat to low.
  • 7. Add the remaining ingredients, cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring often to keep the sauce from sticking and burning.

I'm not a big fan of sweet BBQ sauces, but this one is really good. It has a nice smoky flavor that balances out the sweetness.

This sauce is delicious! I used it on grilled chicken and it was perfect. The flavors are well-balanced and the sauce is not too thick or too thin.

I love the idea of using peaches and onions in a BBQ sauce, but I found that the flavors didn't quite come together for me. I think it needs a little something extra to really make it shine.

This sauce is a great starting point, but I think it could be improved with some additional spices. I added a little bit of smoked paprika and cayenne pepper, and it really took the flavor up a notch.

Overall, I thought this sauce was just okay. It's not bad, but it's not anything special either.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but my sauce turned out really runny. I had to add a lot of cornstarch to thicken it up.

I found this sauce to be a bit bland. It needs more spices to give it some kick.

This sauce is a bit too sweet for my taste, but I can see how others might enjoy it.

I'm not usually a fan of fruit in my BBQ sauce, but this recipe changed my mind. The peaches and onions add a really nice sweetness and depth of flavor.

I love the combination of sweet and savory in this sauce. The peaches add a nice sweetness, while the onions and bourbon give it a savory depth of flavor. I used this sauce on grilled pork chops, and they were delicious!

This BBQ sauce is a sweet and savory explosion of flavor! The peaches and onions add a unique twist that makes it stand out from the rest. I grilled some chicken breasts and basted them with this sauce, and they were a hit with the whole family.
