Soda Pop Marinade for Chicken image

Does anyone remember the grade school science experiment done by dangling a tooth into cola? Back then the cola broke down the tooth. In this marinade the soft drink and soy sauce work together as tenderizers in much the same way. The end result is very tender and flavorful chicken!

I'm not a big fan of soda pop, but I loved the flavor that it added to the chicken. It's a great way to add a little sweetness and depth of flavor without overpowering the chicken.

I've tried this marinade with different types of soda pop, and they all work well. My favorite is root beer, which gives the chicken a slightly sweet and smoky flavor.
