Smoked Salmon in Creamy Whiskey Sauce over Pasta image

This makes a quick yet elegant main course, with rich flavors. The mascarpone cheese can be substituted with cream, but you will need to cook it down for a few minutes after adding to reduce and achieve the proper consistency for the sauce. DO NOT leave the pistachios out, I think they are integral to the dish !

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

500 g spinach tagliatelle, cooked per package directions
50 g butter
4 fresh sage leaves
2 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
200 g smoked salmon, cut in strips
50 g shelled pistachio nuts
4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
4 tablespoons whiskey
200 g mascarpone cheese
fresh ground black pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • In a large frying pan, saute the sage in the butter; when it begins to be fragrant and turn color, remove and discard.
  • Add the garlic to the pan, and saute for 30 seconds.
  • Add the salmon to the pan, toss well, add nuts and cook for 30 seconds (the salmon will break down into small pieces, don't be alarmed).
  • Add the lemon juice and the whiskey, and cook for another minute.
  • Add in the mascarpone cheese and stir well until it melts and is completely incorporated with the other ingredients.
  • Add ground black pepper to taste.
  • Add the hot cooked pasta to your pan and mix it well into the sauce.
  • It is now ready to serve!

This dish was okay. The creamy whiskey sauce was good, but the salmon was a bit overcooked. The pasta was cooked perfectly, but the overall dish was just average.

I found this recipe to be a bit bland. The creamy whiskey sauce lacked flavor, and the salmon was dry. The pasta was cooked well, but the overall dish was just not very exciting.

This dish was a bit too rich for my taste. The creamy whiskey sauce was very heavy, and the salmon was a bit overcooked. The pasta was good, but I think I would have preferred a lighter sauce.

I love this recipe! The creamy whiskey sauce is so unique and delicious. The salmon is cooked perfectly, and the pasta is always cooked al dente. I've made this dish several times, and it's always a hit with my family and friends.

This dish was easy to make and turned out great! The sauce was creamy and flavorful, and the salmon was cooked perfectly. I served it over angel hair pasta, and it was a delicious meal. I will definitely be making this again.

This recipe is a keeper! The creamy whiskey sauce is amazing. I used a bit less whiskey than the recipe called for, and it was still plenty flavorful. The salmon was moist and flaky, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be making thi
