Slow Cooker Praline Apple Crisp image

Cooking dessert in a slow cooker gives you time to cook the rest of your dinner and frees up your oven. My family loves this dessert!

6 medium Tart apples (Granny Smith or Braeburn) peeled if desired, cut into ½ inch thick slices (about 6 cups)
1 tsp Ground cinnamon
1/2 c Quick cooking oats
1/3 c Packed brown sugar
1/4 c All-purpose flour
1/2 c Cold butter (1 stick), cut into small pieces)
1/2 c Chopped pecans
1/2 c Toffee bits
Vanilla ice cream, if desired

Steps:

  • 1. Spray 3-4 quart slow cooker with cooking spray or use crock pot liner. In a large bowl, mix apples and cinnamon to coat. Place in slow cooker.
  • 2. In a medium size bowl, mix oats, brown sugar, flour and butter with pastry blender or fork until crumbly. Stir in pecans and toffee bits. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over apples.
  • 3. Cover; cook on low heat setting 4-6 hours. Serve apple crisp with vanilla ice cream, if desired.

I'm not a fan of pralines, so I omitted the praline topping. The crisp was still delicious, but I think it would have been even better with the topping.
