Slow-Cooker Hearty Baked Beans image

The addition of sausage gives this baked bean recipe a richer, fuller flavor that makes a satisfying dinner side.

1 lb bulk spicy pork sausage
1 package (8 oz) refrigerated prechopped onion
1 package (8 oz) refrigerated prechopped tricolor bell peppers
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup red pepper sauce
1 can (28 oz) baked beans with bacon and brown sugar sauce, undrained
1 can (15 oz) Progresso™ cannellini beans, drained
1 can (15 oz) Progresso™ chick peas (garbanzo beans), drained
1 can (15 oz) Progresso™ dark red kidney beans, drained

Steps:

  • Spray 12-inch skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium-high heat. Add sausage; cook 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink. Add onion, bell peppers and garlic; cook 4 minutes longer.
  • Spray 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Add sausage mixture and remaining ingredients to slow cooker; stir to combine.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 4 hours.
