Slow-Cooker Cinnamon Apples image

Sweet cinnamon flavored apples stewed in a slow cooker make a wonderful one-pot dessert.

6 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cut into eighths
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup maple-flavored syrup
1/4 cup sweetened dried cranberries
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Steps:

  • Spray 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In slow cooker, toss apples and lemon juice to coat. Add brown sugar, walnuts, syrup, cranberries, melted butter and cinnamon; stir well.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 3 hours.
  • In small bowl, stir together water and cornstarch until smooth. Stir into apple mixture in slow cooker. Cover; cook 3 hours longer or until apples are tender.
