Slaw & Bananas image

Found this recipe written in my mother's old steno pad. She copied this down in the late 50's while visiting family on the farm in Kansas. I can't remember her making it, but I wish she had because it sure tastes great. Throw in a handful of sweetened-dried cranberries for color and texture.

I would make this slaw again, but I would make a few changes. I would use less sugar, and I would add some chopped red onion and celery for extra flavor.

Overall, I thought this slaw was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either.

This slaw was a bit too crunchy for my taste. I think I would prefer it if the cabbage and carrots were shredded more finely.

I found this slaw to be a bit bland. I think it could use some more seasoning.

This slaw is a bit too sweet for my taste. I think I would prefer it without the bananas.

I'm not a huge fan of bananas, but I actually really enjoyed this slaw. The bananas add a subtle sweetness that I really liked.

This slaw is a great way to use up leftover bananas. I always have a few bananas that are about to go bad, so this is a great way to use them up before they go to waste.

This slaw was easy to make and very tasty. I used a store-bought coleslaw mix to save time, and it worked out great. I also added some chopped red bell pepper for extra color and crunch.

I've never had a slaw with bananas before, but I'm glad I tried this one. It's delicious! The bananas add a sweetness that balances out the tartness of the cabbage and carrots. I also like the crunch of the peanuts.

This slaw is a refreshing and unique side dish! The combination of bananas, cabbage, and carrots is unexpected but works really well together. I also love the addition of the peanuts and cilantro. They add a nice crunch and flavor to the slaw.
