SKILLET SAUSAGE AND CABBAGE image

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 lb smoked sausage or kielbasa, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 medium onion, sliced
2 stalk(s) celery, thiny sliced
1 medium head green cabbage, coarsely chopped
1 c chicken broth or vegetable broth
1 tsp caraway seeds
1/4 tsp black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Prepare the celery, onion and cabbage.
  • 2. In a large skillet, saute the sausage over medium heat until brown; drain.
  • 3. Add the onion and celery to the skillet and saute for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the cabbage and cook, stirring often, for 8 minutes.
  • 4. Add the sausage, broth, and remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook 10 minutes more, or until cabbage is tender. Serve while hot with mashed or fried potatoes.
