Six Cup Marshmallow Fruit Salad image

One of my favorite sweet treats! Everyone has a unique way of preparing marshmallow salad, a good friend turned me on to her grandma's method. Simple: ONE cup of every item! To make a 7-Cup Salad consider adding a cup of grated coconut!

Provided by Peachie Keene

Categories     Fruit

Time 10m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (8 ounce) can mandarin oranges, thoroughly drained
1 (8 ounce) can pineapple chunks, thoroughly drained
1 cup whole green grape, washed and dried
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 cup sour cream
1 cup walnut pieces or 1 cup pecan pieces

Steps:

  • Be sure to VERY thoroughly drain the canned fruits and dry the washed grapes (you certainly do not want a watery fruit salad!).
  • Combine all ingredients into a large bowl, gently mix.
  • Enjoy!

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my fruit salad turned out really runny. I think I might have added too much dressing.

This fruit salad was just okay. The marshmallows were a nice touch, but the fruit was a bit too tart for my taste.

I wasn't a fan of this fruit salad. The marshmallows were too chewy and the dressing was too sweet.

This was a great way to use up some leftover fruit. I didn't have any marshmallows, so I used mini marshmallows instead. They worked just as well.
