Simple Arabic Rice Pilaf image

This is everyday Arabic rice that is used to eat with stews and such. I grew up eating this with just simply plain yoghurt or chopped tomatoes over it.

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 c white rice
1/4 c butter
1 handfull broken vermicelli noodles
1/2 tsp salt
3 3/4 c water or broth

Steps:

  • 1. Fry the vermicelli in butter on low until golden.
  • 2. Add remaining ingredients.
  • 3. Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer. .
  • 4. Cover & simmer for 30 minutes or until rice is tender & water is absorbed.
