SHOO FLY CAKE image

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 cups Flour
1 cup Shortening or Butter
2 cups Sugar
1 1/2 tsp. Salt
2 cups Warm Water
1 cup Molasses
1 tsp. Baking Soda
9X13 Cake Pan, greased and floured

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Mix flour, sugar, salt, and shortening. Set aside 1 cup for topping Mix water, molasses, and baking soda; then add to dry ingredients. Pour into pan and sprinkle with topping. Bake 25-30 minutes
