Shipwreck Casserole image

An old-fashioned "hamburger hot dish" from an old newspaper clipping. I makes this at lease once a week, My family LOVES it.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 c onion
3 medium potatoes, sliced
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 c uncooked long grain rice
1 c diced carrots
1 c chopped celery
salt and pepper
paprika
1 can(s) tomato soup
1 c boiling water

Steps:

  • 1. Butter a 2-quart casserole. Layer with potatoes, onions, ground beef, rice, carrots, and celery, sprinkling each layer with salt, pepper, and paprika. Combine soup with boiling water; pour over all. Bake at 300° for 3 hours. Shipwreck casserole serves 4.
