SEA SHELL SALAD image

Yield 6 1 cup servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

8 ounces small shell macaroni, uncooked
1 cup shredded carrot
3/4 cup diced green pepper
2/3 cup sliced celery
1/2 cup minced green onions
1 (6 1/8-ounce) can tuna in water, drained and flaked
1/4 cup plus 2 Teaspoons plain low-fat yogurt
1/4 cup reduced-calorie mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • 1) Cook macaroni according to package directions, omitting salt; drain. Rinse with cold water, and drain well. 2) Combine macaroni, carrot, and next 4 ingredients; toss gently. Combine yogurt and next 4 ingredients; stir well. Add to pasta mixture, tossing gently. Cover and chill thoroughly. Note: Variations; Substitute 8 ounces elbow or corkscrew macaroni instead of shells. Add diced sweet red or yellow pepper instead of green, or use all three. Replace the tuna with canned lump crabmeat or canned salmon.
