This is a recipe that I got from a friend's mom. It was taken out of a magazine many years ago. I have made and enjoyed this for a very long time and I have given out the recipes many times.

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 10

12 oz bulk pork sausage
1/2 c chopped onion
1/4 c chopped celery
1/4 c chopped green pepper
1 clove minced garlic
2 Tbsp chopped green onion tops (scallions)
1 pkg (3 oz) cream cheese (cubed)
2 Tbsp minced parsley
1 tube crescent rolls
1 egg, lightly beaten

Steps:

  • 1. Over medium heat, cook sausage, onion, celery, green pepper and garlic until meat is no longer pink and veggies arre tender; drain. Add cream cheese, green onion and parsley. Cook over low heat until cheese is melted, set aside. Unroll crescent roll dough on a greased baking sheet; press perforations together. Roll into a 12 x 10 rectangle. Spoon sausage mixture to within 3 inches of each long side. Cut 3/4 " wide strips 3" into center. Starting at one end, fold alternating strips at an angle, forming a braid. Brush with egg. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.

I would give this recipe a 3 out of 5 stars. It was easy to make, but the braid was a little dry.

Not a fan of this recipe. The braid was too greasy and the filling was too salty.

This recipe was a fail. The braid didn't rise properly and the filling was bland.

The braid was a little dry, but overall it was a good recipe. I think I'll try adding some more moisture to the filling next time.

I used a different type of sausage than the recipe called for, but it still turned out great. I also added some diced bell peppers and onions to the filling.

This recipe was easy to follow and the braid turned out beautiful. It was a little time-consuming to make, but it was worth it.
