Sausage and Egg Tostadas image

Make your next brunch a special occasion with tostadas filled with crumbled sausage, shredded cheese, cooked eggs and salsa.

1 (9.6 ounce) package Jimmy Dean® Original Hearty Pork Sausage Crumbles
½ cup chopped onion
6 tostada shells, warmed in oven
6 cooked eggs, such as poached, fried or over-easy
1 ½ cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
¾ cup salsa
3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

Steps:

  • Cook sausage and onion in large skillet over medium-high heat 8-10 minutes or until sausage is thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently; drain.
  • Place tostada shells on serving plates. Top with sausage mixture, eggs, cheese, salsa and cilantro.

I was disappointed with these tostadas. The sausage was overcooked and dry, and the eggs were rubbery. I also found the avocado to be bland. I won't be making these again.
