Salted Caramel Apple Push-It-Ups image

A delightful autumn dessert made with Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ spice cake, fresh apples, caramels, sea salt and whipping cream. Layered in a push up pop, they're a lip-smacking, no-mess treat.

1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ spice cake mix
1 1/4 cups water
1/3 cup oil
3 eggs
2 cups chopped peeled apples (2 medium)
1 bag (14 oz) caramels, unwrapped
3 tablespoons whipping cream
1 teaspoon sea salt
24 push-up cake pop containers
1 container Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy cream cheese frosting
1/4 cup chopped peanuts, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 48 mini muffin cups with cooking spray.
  • In large bowl, beat cake mix water, oil and eggs with electric mixer on low speed until moistened; beat 2 minutes on high speed. Stir in chopped apples. Divide batter evenly into muffin cups.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
  • In 2-quart saucepan, heat caramels, whipping cream and salt over medium heat 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently, until melted.
  • To assemble push-up cakes, drop 1 mini cupcake into each push-up pop container. Add 1 tablespoon melted caramels and 1 tablespoon frosting. Repeat layers. Sprinkle tops with chopped peanuts.
