Salsa Verde image

This fresh green sauce will keep for several days, but it is best on the day it is made.

Provided by Martha Stewart

Yield Makes 2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pound tomatillos, husks removed, washed
1 clove garlic
1/2 cup cilantro leaves, loosely packed
1 slice white onion
2-4 jalapeno or serrano chiles, stemmed
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender until almost smooth. Adjust seasoning and serve with meat, fish, or vegetables.
