Russian Luscious Strawberry Treat image

It's well known that Russians have some basic cooking rules: 1) Try to use sour cream everywhere you can, and 2) Never throw anything away. This is a combination recipe of those two rules, a no cook dessert (or even breakfast) which is super delicious, creating a really yummy sauce without cooking at all! I make this when I have leftover strawberries that are a bit soft but still edible. Kids go insane over this!

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

20 average-sized strawberries, chopped
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon sugar

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together well.
  • Wait a minute or so before serving so that the sour cream sauce will be slightly pinkish from the juice created by the strawberries and sugar.
  • Enjoy!
  • Note: This will NOT work with any other berry, so strawberries only!

This treat was just okay. The strawberries were good, but the yogurt and granola were a little bland. I think I would have liked it better if I had added some honey or maple syrup to the yogurt.

This treat was a bit too sweet for my taste, but I think that's just because I used very sweet strawberries. Next time, I'll use less sugar or maybe even no sugar at all.

This treat was a bit of a disappointment. The strawberries were sour, and the yogurt and granola were bland. I think I would have liked it better if I had used sweeter strawberries and added some honey or maple syrup to the yogurt.
