Root Beer Jelly/Mountain Dew Jelly or any soda image

I received this recipe from a pen pal.

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 1/4 c soda
4 1/2 c sugar
1 pkg or 6 tablespoons powder pectin
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp butter

Steps:

  • 1. Combine soda, lemon juice, and pectin in large heavy pot. Whisk.
  • 2. Heat to rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute.
  • 3. Add butter, sugar. Stirring constantly
  • 4. Return to boil and boil for 1 minute.
  • 5. Remove from heat. Remove foam, if needed.
  • 6. Ladel in hot jars leaving 1/4 inch head space.
  • 7. Process in hot water bath for 10 minutes.
