Rice Crust for casseroles! image

This crust can be used for "pot pie", quiche, desserts, "pizza", The sky is the limit.... use your imagination!

Number Of Ingredients 7

RICE
2 1/4 c boiling water
1 c white rice (can make it with brown too)
1/2 tsp salt
ADDITIONS
1 large egg (beaten very well)
1 tsp fresh parsley or dill (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. Prepare the rice ingredients. Let cool.
  • 3. Beat the egg very well. If you want to add herbs do it now.
  • 4. Stir the egg into the rice. Mix together well. Press rice mixture into a 9 or 10 inch pie pan.
  • 5. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
  • 6. Put your filling of choice into crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
  • 7. Serve with a salad
