Raisin Drop Cookies image

I love this recipe so versatile. You can try other ingredients, but I love the taste of raisins and cinnamon. This recipe will taste good with either unsalted or salted butter. In fact with this batch I used unsalted butter.

1/2 c butter
1 c all purpose flour
3/4 c sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 c raisins

Steps:

  • 1. In a mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium high for about 30 seconds.
  • 2. Add about half of the flour,then the sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg. Beat till thoroughly combined.
  • 3. Beat in remaining flour. Stir in the one cup of raisins.
  • 4. Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 5. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes or till edges are golden brown.
  • 6. Remove cookies immediately from cookie sheet and cool on a wire rack.
  • 7. Recipe makes between 24 to 30 cookies.
