Prune Plum Crisp image

Plums are traditional in German baking. My mother used to make Zwetschen Kuchen, a plum cake with yeast dough every fall around the Jewish New Year. I loved the Plums, but hated the dough. I used an apple crisp recipe, but substituted plums for the apples

This crisp is a great way to use up leftover plums. I had a bunch of plums that were about to go bad, so I decided to make this crisp. It turned out great!

Overall, I thought this crisp was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either.

The crisp topping was a bit too thick for my liking. I think I would have preferred it with a thinner, more delicate topping.

This crisp was a bit too sweet for my taste. I think I would have preferred it with less sugar.

I've made this crisp several times now, and it's always a hit! The fruit filling is juicy and flavorful, and the crisp topping is perfectly golden brown. I like to serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Easy to make and delicious! I used a mix of red and black plums, and the tartness of the red plums balanced out the sweetness of the black plums perfectly. The crisp topping was also a nice touch, and added a bit of texture to the dish.
