From Taste of Home. The sauce makes the bottom of the baking pan REALLY sticky and icky, so next time I'll cover the pan with foil before I put the ribs in. I didn't really find basting necessary because the sauce was so thick -- it coated the ribs on its own.

Time 2h

Yield 12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

6 lbs pork spareribs
1 1/2 cups ketchup
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Cut ribs into serving-size pieces; place with the meaty side up on racks in two greased 9X13-inch baking pans.
  • Cover tightly with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours or until meat is tender.
  • Drain; remove racks and return ribs to pans.
  • Combine remaining ingredients; pour over ribs.
  • Return to oven, uncovered, for 35 minutes or until sauce coats ribs, basting occasionally.
  • Ribs can also be grilled over medium-hot coals for the last 35 minutes instead of baking.

These spareribs were a bit too spicy for my taste, but my husband loved them. I think I'll use less chili powder next time.

I followed the recipe exactly and the ribs were still tough. I think I might have overcooked them.

These spareribs were a bit too sweet for my taste, but they were still good. I think I'll try using less brown sugar next time.

I'm always looking for new sparerib recipes and this one is definitely a keeper. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the sauce was delicious. I will definitely be making these again.

I was skeptical at first because I'm not a big fan of spareribs, but these were amazing! The meat was so tender and juicy, and the sauce was just the right amount of tangy and sweet.

I've tried many sparerib recipes over the years, but this one is by far the best. The secret is in the marinade. It really infuses the meat with flavor.

These potluck spareribs were a huge hit at my last party! The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and the sauce was perfectly tangy and sweet. I will definitely be making these again.
