PENNE WITH ITALIAN SAUSAGE AND PEPPERS image

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 Lb. Penne or Ziti
1 Lb. Italian Sausage
8 slices bacon, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 small yellow onion, cut in 1/2 inch wedges
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow pepper, sliced
1 Cup heavy cream
1 jar Marinara ( I prefer Paul Newmans)
Red Pepper Flakes, to taste
Olive Oil

Steps:

  • Prepare pasta according to direcions on package. Meanwhile, in large saute pan, heat 1 tbsp. olive oil over medium heat. Add sausage and bacon and cook until browned. Add garlic, onion and peppers and suate until softened, 5-7 minutes. Add heavy cream and pepper flakes and bring to boil. Let thicken a few minutes. Add Marinara and let simmer 10 minutes. Add pasta to sauce. Add any pasta water to thin, if needed. Serve with a simple salad and crusty bread
