Pecan Chews image

This recipe comes from the book "Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder" by Joanne Fluke. I read the book while on vacation this summer & enjoyed it. I want to pass the book on to my swap partner in the Used Media Swap. I'm posting the recipe here even though I have not made the chews yet. I hope to make them soon but, if you make them first, please post a review & let us know how good they are. The author did not indicate how many servings this recipe makes so I guessed. I will update when I know for sure.

I'm allergic to pecans. Do you think I could substitute another nut, like walnuts or almonds?

These pecan chews are really good, but they're a bit too chewy for my liking. I think I'll try cooking them for a little less time next time.

I had a hard time finding light corn syrup. I ended up using regular corn syrup and the pecan chews turned out fine.

These pecan chews are a little too sweet for my taste. I think I'll try reducing the amount of sugar next time.

I'm not a huge fan of pecans, but I really enjoyed these pecan chews. They're not too sweet and the pecans are nice and crunchy.
