Pan Burritos image

This is a lazy but simple way to get the taste of burritos without having to do all the rolling. A meal that can easily be played with by changing the sauce and meats, have fun and enjoy this yummy dish

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 pkg red enchilada sauce
3 c water
12 oz tomato paste
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 tsp salt
2 lb ground beef
flour tortillas
2 c shredded cheddar cheese
16 oz refried beans, warmed

Steps:

  • 1. preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • 2. In a saucepan combine first 6 ingredients and simmer according to pkg instructions. In a skillet brown the meat and drain off grease.
  • 3. In a greased 13x9 baking dish pour 1/3 cup of the sauce to cover the bottom. Put down a layer of tortillas tearing to fit in the dish and now layer half the meat, beans, cheese and sauce with tortillas. the top layer should be tortillas covered with sauce and cheese.
  • 4. Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes; let stand 10 minutes prior to serving.
  • 5. FYI: To make it even easier I would just used canned enchilada sauce
