This recipe came from "The Best & Easy Recipes of New England (Keepsake Cuisine Series) Seeing that my husband farms Oysters down Cape Cod, MA. I should at least post one recipe for Oyster stew !!!! Oysters are sure a hit in this area!

Steps:
- 1. Heat oysters in liquid until their edges curl, then set aside to keep warm.
- 2. Melt butter in a saucepan, blend in flour until smooth, stir in chopped green onions and simmer a few minutes. Pour into a blender with oyster liquid and one dozen of the oysters. Blend first on low, then high for about a minute. While blending, add cream (at room temperature). Melt one teaspoon of butter in a double boiler, add oyster mixture and stir until well heated and thickened.
- 3. Season to taste. Add remaining oysters, or place six oysters in each warmed soup bowl and pour stew over them. Garnish with paprika. Serves 4.
- 4. CHEESE PUFFS
- 5. Mix ingredients together and spread on bread rounds. Bake in 350 degree oven until tops are bubbly and lightly browned, about 15 minutes. Serves 6-8
