Orange Cream Meringue Cups image

As a change from heavy desserts, I like to serve crisp meringue cups filled with a creamy orange custard. The shells and filling can be made in advance; fill just before serving.-Deirdre Cox, Kansas City, Missouri

I had a hard time finding individual ramekins, so I used a muffin tin instead. The cups turned out just as good!

These were a bit too sweet for my taste, but they were still very good. I think I'll try making them again with less sugar.

These were a bit too sweet for my taste, but they were still very good. I think I'll try making them again with a less sweet orange curd.

These were delicious! I used a store-bought orange curd and it worked perfectly. The meringue was a little tricky to make, but it was worth it. The cups were a bit too sweet for my taste, but I think that's because I used a sweeter orange curd.

These orange cream meringue cups were a delightful treat! The combination of sweet and tangy orange filling and fluffy meringue was perfect. I loved the texture of the meringue, which was crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside.
