Delicious and simple. My mom gave me this recipe. I chose to make it with canned peaches. You can use the fruit of your choice, either canned or fresh. Serve it by itself or along with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Time 55m

Yield 1 9x12 cobbler

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 cup butter
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
3 cups sweetened fruit

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a shallow baking dish. I used a 9x12 Pyrex dish.
  • Mix flour, sugar, and milk in a separate bowl.
  • Pour this mixture over melted butter. Do Not Stir.
  • Spoon fruit of your choice, either fresh or canned, over batter. Again do not stir. (If using canned fruit, be sure to drain syrup).
  • Bake cobbler at 350 degree pre-heated oven for 30-45 minutes or until crust rises to the top and is lightly browned and liquid is bubbly.

This was a total flop for me. The biscuits were super soggy even though I cooked it for 40 minutes and the fruit was too tart.

This was fantastic! I used frozen blueberries, strawberries and raspberries along with a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg. I also used a cast iron skillet instead of a baking sheet and it turned out perfectly.

This was ok. Followed the recipe mostly. Added a little cinnamon and nutmeg to the berries. Also had to cook much longer than 20 mins, maybe closer to 40 before it finally started bubbling. Used the biscuits from a can and they seemed a bit heavy

Loved it! This was a hit with my family, and my picky 3 year old ate 2 bowls! I added a bag of frozen mixed berries and a splash of vanilla extract. I also used 1 cup of sugar instead of 2. The only issue I had was it took longer than the recipe
