Old Fashioned Raisin Bars With Cream Cheese Frosting image

I got this from recipelink.com. I had a coffee/raisin bar type recipe and I can't find it. This seems similar. I really want to try these!

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 cup hot strong coffee
1 cup raisins
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
1 egg, beaten
1 3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (1 lb) box powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup margarine, softened

Steps:

  • Pour hot coffee over raisins, cool to lukewarm.
  • Stir in sugar, oil and egg.
  • Stir together flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
  • Add raisin mixture and mix well.
  • Pour batter into greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
  • Mix together all ingredients for frosting.
  • Cool. Spread with icing.
