New Orleans Seafood Gumbo image

Number Of Ingredients 15

4 cups fish stock
2 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 cup onion, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon fennel seed, ground
12 ounces clam juice
2 cups fresh okra, sliced
4 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
2/3 cup celery, diced small
1/2 cup carrot, grated
28 ounces stewed tomatoes
2 cups crab meat, shredded
1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and de-veined
2 cups white fish, diced

Steps:

  • Combine the stock, mushrooms, onion, rosemary, worcestershire, fennel, clam juice, okra, parsley, celery, carrots and tomatoes in a large soup pot and bring to a simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Add the crab, shrimp and fish and continue to simmer for another 10 minutes, or until the shrimp turns pink. Serve topped with tabasco sauce and diced red onions.
