New Orleans Cafe Au Lait image

Several years ago a co-worker made cafe au lait. We both worked 2nd shift and what a treat!! She was a Creole and all of her food was great!! Thanks Nina for sharing:)

Number Of Ingredients 3

3 c cold water
3/4 c chicory-blend coffee
3 c light cream

Steps:

  • 1. Measure 3 cups cold water into perculator. Measure 3/4 cup chicory into basket. Cover and perk. Remove basket. Keep hot until ready to serve.
  • 2. Heat 3 cups light cream over low heat. Beat with rotary beater until foamy. Transfer to a warmed container.
  • 3. Pour coffee and cream in equal amounts into serving cups. Yummy:)
