My absolute favorite cookie. I have added Heath chocolate toffee bits to the original recipe that just makes these even more delicious!

Categories     Cookies

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 14

2 c butter, softened
4 c flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 c sugar
2 c brown sugar
5 c oatmeal (in blender until fine powder)
24 oz chocolate chips
16 oz heath chocolate toffee bits (2 bags)
1 tsp salt
8 oz chocolate bar grated
4 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
3 c chopped walnuts
2 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • 1. Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add chocolate chips, Heath bits, chocolate bar and nuts. This is a very dry dough with a lot of ingredients which makes this hard to stir. I have found once adding dry ingredients it's just easier to mix by hand until thoroughly combined.
  • 2. Roll dough into balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 375.

I'm not a big fan of nuts in cookies, but these cookies are an exception. The nuts add a nice crunch and flavor.

These cookies are really easy to make, but they don't spread out very much in the oven. I had to flatten them out with a spatula before baking.

I had some trouble finding toffee bits, so I used chopped walnuts instead. The cookies still turned out great.

These cookies are delicious, but they're a bit too sweet for my taste. I'll probably cut back on the sugar next time I make them.
