I found this recipe in a very old publication. I did not have all the ingredients called for, so I improvised and it turned out very pretty and tasted really good! As I am not a fan of fruitcake I was surprised how good these cookies turned out.

Steps:
- 1. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, mix well. Combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
- 2. Fold in fruits and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets.
- 3. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool in wire racks.
