Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 moroccan mint tea bags (or you can use earl gray tea or orange pekoe tea)
4 1/2 cups water, briskly boiled
10 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks, about 3 inches in length
2 to 4 Tbsp brown sugar, or to preference

Steps:

  • 1. Place tea bags, cloves and cinnamon sticks in a teapot. Pour briskly boiling water over the ingredients in the teapot. Let stand 5 minutes to steep.
  • 2. Stir in the brown sugar, adjusting amount to your preference.
  • 3. Enjoy the tea throughout the day. (The tea will increase in its depth of flavor the longer it's allowed to stand, because the cinnamon and cloves will continue to flavor the tea as it rests.)

This tea is a delightful blend of spices and flavors. The cinnamon adds a warm sweetness, while the ginger and cardamom give it a bit of a kick. I also love the addition of orange zest, which brightens up the flavor profile.
