This was my grandmother's recipe from the 1950s. Slow cooked, flavor infused beans, more like a main dish than a side dish. Excellent for family gatherings and pot lucks!

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- 2. Stir fry ground beef just until browned; drain well.
- 3. Combine all ingredients except for the bacon. Mix well.
- 4. Pour into a 13x9x2 ovenproof baking dish and lay the bacon strips on the top.
- 5. Bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours.
